Why do the small things bother me so much?

Slightly off topic this one.
Imagine my surprise when I got an angry call from home earlier today to inform me that my little castle is apparently on the market.
It's mine, all mine - and I've got the mortgage statements to prove it.
Kingswood estate agents apparently have other ideas.
A contractor working for them stuck a 'to let' sign in my front yard earlier today. Grrr.
I made a couple of calls to their office - which is a couple of hundred yards away from home - and asked them to take it down.
Six hours or so later it was still there.
I'm leaving the office shortly and I'm hoping it's gone by the time I get back.
Again, I say 'grrr'.

  1. If I could answer that I would be able to stop adding comments to the Mercury website!

We had a similar problem - we had lived in our house for about two months and the sign was still nailed to the front wall. In the end I prised it off. About SIX MONTHS later, someone from the sign people came round and asked where the sign was!

  2. I had the same issue a few years back after buying a house. After a week of being ignored I sent an invoice to the estage agent detailing my costs for storage, security, and on-going operation and maintenance (ie. moving it slightly each time I needed to open the gate). I made sure they got it, by fax and email. When I returned home from work that evening it wasn't there. Brilliant.
